On April 11th, 2026, the seminar on the preliminary draft of the group standard "UHMWPE Fiber Prepregs" was held in Protech production base, Jizhou, Tianjin. This standard was reviewed by the Building Materials Standardization Technical Committee of the Standardization Committee of Chinese Society for Testing Materials (CSTM Standardization Committee), it was under the purview of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Fiber-Reinforced Composites (CSTM/FC03/TC11) and led by Beijing Protech. Experts and representatives from organizations including No.53 Research institute of Norinco Group, Tiangong University, AVIC Armor Technology Co., Ltd., and other institutions attended the meeting.

"UHMWPE Fiber Prepregs" standard was proposed based on Protech's years of experience in the research, production and application of UHMWPE Fiber Prepregs. It was mainly aimed to standardize its production and promote the high-quality and lightweight development of ballistic composite materials and ballistic equipment. The drafting institutions included well-known production enterprises, research institutes, testing centers, and downstream product manufacturers across the entire industry chain in this field.

During the meeting, Protech, on behalf of the drafting working group, reported on the project background, current domestic and international situation, the composition of the working group, and progress plan for the standard. The attending experts and representatives put forward a number of constructive comments and suggestions on specific aspects of the draft standard, including the content framework, format standardization, broad applicability, and descriptive accuracy of the draft standard.
